Catherine Park. If you want to find tranquility and peace of mind, take a stroll along the shady alleys among the beautiful small pavilions of the Catherine Park. An interesting feature of the Catherine Park is that it consists of two parts, each with its own style: the French (architectural) Park distinguished for the clear, geometric planning of its wide, straight walks and the English Park imitating nature as it is.
Lyceum - an educational institution built in the late 18th century was intended for children from distinguished families. The first enrolment at the Liceum listed thirty boys. One of them was Alexander Pushkin ...
Alexander Palace - permanent residence of Emperor Nicolas II and his wife Alexandra Fyodorovna - was recently opened to the public. It was here that the 22-year reign of the last Russian Emperor was passed. Tsar's reception room, palace chapel, Anastasia's bedroom are all witnesses of the tragic story of Nicolas and Alexandra and their children. On the morning of August 1, 1917 the Tsar's family was taken from the palace and sent into their fatal exile in Siberia.
A couple of weeks later... In the company of your friends you are the center of general attention. You show them photos and tell them about the moments passed in Tsarskoye Selo. You have touched the mistery of Russian Empire and you have seen the wonders they haven't - your friends will be green with envy. Don't miss to enjoy it!
